Let’s take a walk down memory lane and see how plumbing has changed over the last 50 years.RedatWork.jpg

During this time, many parts of Texas didn’t have indoor plumbing. While it was gaining in popularity, it was viewed as an expense that wasn’t needed. Places that did have indoor plumbing were usually businesses and restaurants that were frequently visited. Newer homes were also having plumbing installed, but most residents still lived in older homes.

A lot of great things happened in the world of plumbing during the 70’s. The Safe Drinking Water Act was passed. The first toilet to flush using only 3.5 gallons was introduced; the toilets before that would use 5-10 gallons per flush. Indoor plumbing also became a mainstream concept, which led to an increase in plumbing problems. It also meant more people were becoming plumbers.

In the 80’s legislation adopted the Energy Efficiency Act, which set a restriction on the water flow rates of plumbing fixtures. The public was starting to care about how much water they were using. We also started to see homeowners in need of major pipe repairs and replacements as the older homes’ pipes began to wear down.

Plumbing fixtures were continuing to become more and more efficient with their water usage. In the 90’s, we started to see more and more technological advances that aided our expert plumbers as problems became trickier or more difficult to solve.

Plumbing technologies continued to advance and in the mid-2000’s the first video enabled sewer auger was in use. This gave our professional plumbers the leg-up when it came to sewer repair. When we finish clearing a clogged pipe, we could be sure it was completely clear.

The last 5 years, AAA AUGER has continued to serve the great state of Texas the same way we have since the 1960’s. Plumbing systems and the technology used to fix them may have change, but we haven’t. We’re still your Go-To Guys whenever you have a plumbing problem.
